Srinagar, Oct 18 (KNO): In a historic milestone for the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Shri Mohd Yaseen Kichloo (IPS) has become the first officer from the force to be granted a patent in the field of cyber and virtual technology.
The patent, titled “A System for Providing Secure Identity Authentication on Virtual Tourism Platforms and A Method of Secure Authentication Thereof” (Patent No. 572210), was officially granted on October 16, 2025, a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads.
This innovation pioneers quantum-secure identity verification for virtual tourism platforms, ensuring safer and more trustworthy digital interactions in the metaverse era.
The patent was co-developed by Prof. (Dr.) Sat Prakash Bansal, Prof. (Dr.) Suman Sharma, Dr. Parveen Sadotra, Kichloo and Rabia Koser — a distinguished team of academicians and professionals.
Kichloo’s achievement not only brings laurels to the J&K Police but also signals the force’s rising stature in cybersecurity, digital transformation, and tech-driven policing.
It reflects a forward-looking approach, aligning with national goals in secure digital infrastructure and innovation leadership—(KNO)
